COIN AGM 2015

Christians on the Internet are celebrating 20 years since the foundation of the organisation in 1995. Back then the Internet was new, few people had email accounts, the world wide web was in its infancy.  Google was just a research project.

COIN was created to encourage churches and individuals to embrace the new technologies by providing email-based discussion lists (still at the heart of COIN) examples of good practice, and a presence at events such as CRE.

Moving forward – the Internet is ubiquitous, Google is everywhere, anyone can have an email account, social media presence, shared documents and calendars in the cloud. But there is still the need for people to be able to get help, to hold discussions on matters that have a bias to churches within the UK. COIN continues …
